Maps, musical notation, and layered papers suggest the histories she carries and the many languages through which her identity is expressed.
In The Shape of Her Voice, a faceless woman communicates before she ever speaks. Her hand-on-hip posture is both assured and declarative—a quiet claim to space, authorship, and self-definition. Constructed from maps, musical notation, patterned papers, and painted passages, her figure carries traces of history, culture, memory, and possibility.
As part of Her Many Languages, the work considers the ways women speak not only through words, but also through gesture, clothing, movement, work, and choice. Her identity cannot be contained by one role or a single story. She is continually shaping—and speaking—herself.
