Mixed media on wood panel
Five hand painted wooden tiles, each built around a twelve point star pattern, set in a row across a stone-like marbled ground.
Courtyard Stars draws on the geometric star patterns found in the tiled courtyards and sacred architecture of many cultures. Five hand painted wooden tiles sit in a row across a marbled ground that suggests weathered stone. Each tile is built around a twelve point star, repeated with variations in color: soft lavender and sky blue, violet with apricot, deep cobalt with orange, emerald on coral, and cool slate with rose. The shared geometry creates order and calm, while the shifting palette gives each tile its own mood. Together they evoke the feeling of standing in a quiet courtyard, where pattern, light, and stillness meet.
